Who Will Be Our 300th Viewer

In just over a week we have now had 285 people view this alternative look at the volunteering that goes on at Cue and Review "Print Speaking to the Blind.  We really appreciate the work put in by the team at Chaotic Good Media who came in a couple of days before hand to discussed ideas and within a very short space of time delivered this excellent viral video.  We must also thank our team of readers/technicians who participated it really did have us rolling about laughing.

We received this sad news this morning from Janelle Scotland, Chair, Association of Scottish Talking Newspapers (ASTN)

It is with great regret that I contact you to let you know that Graham Garvie has died.  Graham was well known in the Scottish TN community as one of the founder members and for many years Chairman of Mid-Fife Newstape in Kirkcaldy. He was also a member of the Scottish Talking Newspaper Group (STNG) which became the Association of Scottish Talking Newspapers (ASTN).

Graham had been ill for some time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs Garvie and the Volunteers of M.F.N.T. at this sad time.

Graham’s funeral is to be held at Kirkcaldy Crematorium on Wednesday, 21st March at 3.00 p.m.

When our Managing Director Alastair served on STNG he was always shown the greatest kindness and courtesy by Graham.  Alastair and Karen McPhee on behalf of Cue and Review Recording Service would wish to express their condolences to Graham's family and friends.

Awards for All and Lottery Feasibility Applications

Chris Beattie has been working with Alastair on finding funding to enable a three month trial for East Dunbartonshire Radio. We are looking at Awards for All in particular. The open evening on the 6th February will go some way to help with that in that we need to form a committee of at least three people; have a bank account; draw up financial projections for the first year and a constitution. Chris is working with Rona Thompson of EDCVS and his connections at Strathclyde Fusion Radio to enable this to move forward, while Alastair is preparing the financial projections and speaking to the Big Lottery Fund.

It is hoped that with EDR being a separate organisation, Cue and Review Recording Service will be able to charge EDR a rental for the use of the space helping towards it own funds while also having the spin off that people involved in the community radio will hopefully be willing to be involved in producing materials for the daily podcasts of the newspapers.

Chris and Sarah have done a brilliant job drawing up a paper on how EDR can progress. Copies of this will be available at the open evening on the 6th of February.
