Awards for All and Lottery Feasibility Applications

Chris Beattie has been working with Alastair on finding funding to enable a three month trial for East Dunbartonshire Radio. We are looking at Awards for All in particular. The open evening on the 6th February will go some way to help with that in that we need to form a committee of at least three people; have a bank account; draw up financial projections for the first year and a constitution. Chris is working with Rona Thompson of EDCVS and his connections at Strathclyde Fusion Radio to enable this to move forward, while Alastair is preparing the financial projections and speaking to the Big Lottery Fund.

It is hoped that with EDR being a separate organisation, Cue and Review Recording Service will be able to charge EDR a rental for the use of the space helping towards it own funds while also having the spin off that people involved in the community radio will hopefully be willing to be involved in producing materials for the daily podcasts of the newspapers.

Chris and Sarah have done a brilliant job drawing up a paper on how EDR can progress. Copies of this will be available at the open evening on the 6th of February.

East Dunbartonshire Radio

East Dunbartonshire Radio is taking shape, and will be hosting an open evening on the 6th of February, from 6pm-8pm at the Cue and Review premises. If you want to get involved with the community radio, we urge you to come along and have a chat with us. We are currently seeking as many people as possible to help us get the radio station off the ground, and I know many of you have expressed interest in being involved with community radio in the past.
There is more information on the Facebook event page, found at: http://www.facebook.com/events/331507590212888/

Chris Beattie is spearheading East Dunbartonshire Radio, so also feel free to contact him at bmcstudio@hotmail.co.uk  for more information.
